The following tables show what the different model
numbers mean for SyntorX VHF/UHF.
To determine the Frequency and Power check the
model number in the charts below. I have
no information on the Low Band Model numbers,
so if you have that pass it along and I
will add it to the page. And just to say this
again incase you don't know, thier is not a SyntorXX,
that is just the way Motorola shadows the X,
and many people think that it is an XX. It is not,
check other sites and ask someone who really
know what they are talking about ;-).
Example -
T43VBJ7D04AK
T
43 - Power Frequency
V
B - (If
X then Secure Net Capable??)
J
7 - Coded Squelch
D - Number of Channel
0
4
A (B)
K
To decode the model numbers here are the keys for UHF and VHF radios. If you have other infomation, pass it along and I'll add it to the lists below.
800mhz Radio Note
Conventional and Trunking models have similar
model numbers, ie, the T45VBJ7000AK model can be conventional or trunking.
The difference is in the PROCESSOR and some other components that may not
be stuffed on the PCB. This info from a user uses the CPU part U8 to check
for some numbers -
Conventional Version
k2r8228, sc80401p, 07k56
Trunked version
3870/42, 16221n-15, 09c01
If you have more information on the 800mhz
version or information on conversion to the 900mhz ham bands, drop me a
line and I will gladly post the information to help keep the band active
we must use it! The Rx is 851-870 MHz. The Tx is 806-825 MHz with
the addition of 851-870
MHz for the Talk-Around option.

When checking on
manuals, Motorola has some of them still in print. Check them first as
the prices for some USED manuals are sometimes the same as getting a new
one. A good example of this is on eBay (or sometime uPay).
